Area Overview

What makes Wakad special

Wakad is where most of Hinjewadi’s workforce actually lives. It sits between the IT park and the Mumbai–Pune Expressway, and it is the most complete residential suburb in this belt — the one with proper markets, schools, hospitals and a settled resident base rather than a purely transient one.

Datta Mandir Chowk, Bhumkar Chowk and Dhange Chowk are its main junctions, and the areas around each have their own character. Kaspate Wasti and Bhujbal Vasti hold the older village-side stock.

The Expressway is about 3 km, which makes Wakad the easiest address in this belt for weekend travel to Mumbai and Lonavala. Metro Line 3 will run along the Hinjewadi road at its western edge.

Why choose Wakad?

Wakad is the settled option in this belt. Proper markets, three well-regarded schools within 3 km, Lifepoint and Sanjeevani hospitals nearby, the Expressway 3 km away and Hinjewadi fifteen minutes west. It has a resident base rather than a purely transient one. The trade-offs are the daily drive into the IT park, no suburban rail, and junction congestion at Datta Mandir and Bhumkar Chowk through the day.
