Area Overview

What makes Akurdi special

Akurdi is the quietest of the four core PCMC towns and the most education-led. PCCOE and several colleges sit here, and the coaching and student rental market that follows is a defining part of the local economy.

It has its own station on the Pune–Lonavala suburban line, the Khandoba Mal area on the higher ground, and the Bhakti-Shakti precinct on the Nigdi border.

Housing is largely planned society stock from the 1990s onward, which makes it more uniform and generally better laid out than Pimpri’s older core. The planned Metro Line 1 extension to Nigdi will pass close by.
