Andheri West is the biggest and busiest suburb on the western line, running from the station across S.V. Road and Link Road to Lokhandwala, Oshiwara and the sea at Versova. It is effectively several neighbourhoods under one name.
Lokhandwala and Oshiwara form the centre of the television and film industry outside the studios, Versova holds a working Koliwada and a beach that a decade of volunteer clean-ups transformed, and the stretch around Infiniti Mall carries the retail and nightlife.
Two metro lines cross here — Line 1 to Ghatkopar and Line 2A along Link Road — and Andheri station serves both the Western and Harbour lines. Few Mumbai suburbs are this well connected.

Andheri West is the most connected suburb on the western line: both rail lines, two metro lines, the airport about 5 km away and Versova Beach at the western end. Kokilaben Hospital, Bhavan’s College and Infiniti Mall are all inside it, and the rental market is deep in every segment. The trade-offs are scale and congestion — S.V. Road and Link Road are gridlocked for much of the day, and the suburb is large enough that which pocket you pick matters more than the name.
