Area Overview

What makes Juhu special

Juhu is Mumbai’s beachfront suburb — low-rise, tree-lined and expensive, running from Juhu Tara Road along the sand up to the Versova border. It is the closest the city gets to a resort neighbourhood.

ISKCON Juhu, Prithvi Theatre, the JW Marriott and Novotel strip, and the bungalows on Gulmohar and Ruia Park roads define it. The beach itself carries the city’s best-known evening chaat scene.

The catch is access. Juhu has no railway station and no metro of its own — everything runs through Vile Parle or Santacruz, about 2 km inland, and Juhu Tara Road clogs badly on weekends and event nights.

Why choose Juhu?

Juhu is the beachfront premium in the western suburbs. You get sand at the end of the road, low-rise tree-lined streets, the best school cluster on the western line, the airport about 5 km away and Cooper Hospital within one. Against that: no station and no metro, Juhu Tara Road clogs on weekends, yields sit near 2–3%, and monsoon brings salt corrosion and waterlogging.
