Area Overview

What makes Walkeshwar special

Walkeshwar is the western slope of Malabar Hill, running down to the sea. It takes its name from the Walkeshwar Temple, and the Banganga Tank beside it is one of the oldest surviving structures in the city.

The tank precinct is a protected heritage site — stone steps, deepstambhas and small temples around still water, with the sea a few hundred metres beyond. Very little of Mumbai looks like this.

Above and around it sit sea-facing towers and older low-rise blocks. Stock is scarce, expensive and closely held, and heritage and coastal regulation rules restrict what can be built.

Why choose Walkeshwar?

Walkeshwar gives you open Arabian Sea views, the Banganga Tank precinct on your doorstep, the Hanging Gardens a short walk up the hill, and Bombay International School and Breach Candy Hospital within 2 km — at slightly below Malabar Hill pricing. Against that: no railway station, yields of 1.5–2%, very scarce stock, and heritage and coastal regulation rules that restrict any alteration.
