Area Overview

What makes Nariman Point special

Nariman Point is reclaimed land at the southern end of Marine Drive, built out from the 1970s as the city’s purpose-made central business district. Air India Building, Express Towers and the NCPA all sit here.

It has held that role for fifty years, though BKC has drawn a good deal of the financial sector north since the 2000s. What remains is government, legal, consular and corporate head-office activity.

Residential stock is very thin — a handful of buildings among the offices, plus the Cuffe Parade towers immediately south. Aqua Line 3 terminates at Cuffe Parade, which finally gave the district a metro connection.
