Area Overview

What makes Virar West special

Virar West is the older and more settled half of Virar, running from the terminus station out to the coast at Arnala. It has a proper town centre, a market, and Viva College nearby.

Arnala is the draw — a beach with an island fort just offshore, reachable by boat, and one of the quieter stretches of coast within reach of Mumbai. Bolinj and the coastal villages sit between the town and the sea.

The Jivdani Temple on the hill above draws large crowds during Navratri, and the coastal villages retain their East Indian and Koli parish structure.

Why choose Virar West?

Virar West has the town market, Viva College, the Jivdani hill temple and Arnala Beach with its island fort — one of the quieter stretches of coast within reach of Mumbai. It is more established than the east side. But the commute is the defining fact: Churchgate is about ninety-five minutes, the airport eighty-seven, and train frequency drops past Virar. Buy here to live and work locally, not to commute to Mumbai.
