Area Overview

What makes Mira Road East special

Mira Road East is the largest and busiest part of the Mira-Bhayandar belt, a wholly developer-built suburb that grew from near-nothing in the 1990s into a town of well over three lakh people.

It is unusually cosmopolitan even by Mumbai standards, and its food streets reflect that. The Western Express Highway runs along its eastern edge, with the Kanakia and Shanti Nagar sub-belts among the better-known pockets.

Metro Line 9 will terminate here, extending Line 7 north from Dahisar. It is under construction, and it is the single change most likely to reset how this belt is valued.

Why choose Mira Road East?

Mira Road East is the most complete address in this belt: a fast-train station with Borivali eight minutes south, Wockhardt Hospital and St. Xavier’s College inside the suburb, three well-regarded schools within 2 km, and Metro Line 9 terminating here when it opens. It is genuinely cosmopolitan, and the food streets are the best in the zone. The trade-offs are sixty minutes to Churchgate, high density, and infrastructure that has lagged very rapid growth.
