Area Overview

What makes Koramangala special

Koramangala is the centre of Bengaluru’s startup economy. A great many of India’s best-known technology companies began in its Blocks, and the ecosystem of investors, accelerators and coworking around them remains concentrated here.

It was laid out in numbered Blocks from the 1970s, and that planned structure — wide roads, generous sites, reserved park land — is why it absorbed the growth better than most.

The 5th and 6th Block commercial strips carry the dining and retail. St. John’s Medical College sits on the western edge and Christ University immediately north.
