Phase 8 is part of the original SAS Nagar phase layout, adjoining Phase 7 and the Mohali Industrial Area, well inside the city grid.
*** IT IS FILED IN THE WRONG ZONE. *** Phases 1 to 7 sit in the “Mohali Sectors” zone on this sheet; Phase 8 alone sits under “Kharar & New Chandigarh”, which covers the belt west and north of the city. Kharar is a separate municipal town several kilometres away.
IT IS ALSO SUBSTANTIALLY INDUSTRIAL. The Mohali Industrial Area falls in and around this phase, so permitted use, allotment terms and adjoining activity all matter more here than in the residential phases — and the zone heading gives no warning of either issue.

Mohali (SAS Nagar) station serves the city, with Chandigarh Junction about 8-10 km away carrying most long-distance traffic.
Metro
Mohali has NO METRO IN SERVICE. The TRICITY METRO - about 77 km over three lines across Chandigarh, Mohali, New Chandigarh and Panchkula, with roughly 31 km in Mohali and New Chandigarh - was approved with a Phase 1 cost around Rs 10,500-10,570 crore. RITES phasing puts construction from 2027 and operations in the early-to-mid 2030s. THE PROJECT HAS BEEN ON THE DRAWING BOARD SINCE ABOUT 2000 and an earlier DPR was rejected in 2017 as commercially unviable. NOTHING IS BUILT. CHECK CURRENT STATUS.
Airport
CHANDIGARH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IS PHYSICALLY IN MOHALI DISTRICT - formally Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport. The name says Chandigarh; the land is in SAS Nagar, which is why the Airport Road and Aerocity corridor sits on this sheet at all.
Roads
The EM Bypass, VIP Road, Diamond Harbour Road and Barrackpore Trunk Road form the arterial network, with Chowringhee through the centre.
