Local Train
Kanpur Central is one of the busiest stations in the country, on the Delhi-Howrah main line, and now has its own metro interchange.
Metro
Kanpur Metro runs ONE OPERATIONAL LINE - the Orange Line, from IIT Kanpur to Kanpur Central, 14 stations over about 16 km. The first elevated section opened in December 2021 and five underground stations through to Kanpur Central opened on 30 May 2025. The rest of the Orange Line and the Blue Line are under construction, so CHECK CURRENT STATUS before relying on a station that has not opened.
