Maharajpura, about 10 km north-east of the city, is the site of MAHARAJPUR AIR FORCE STATION. The Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindia Air Terminal — Gwalior’s airport — is a CIVIL ENCLAVE within it, sharing the runways rather than occupying its own field.
TWO CONSEQUENCES FOLLOW FOR A BUYER. Defence land inside the station does not trade at all, and accommodation within it is service accommodation. And AIRPORT AND DEFENCE HEIGHT RESTRICTIONS apply across the surrounding area, independently of ordinary building permission — which limits what can be built on land that is otherwise perfectly ordinary.
