Gwalior Junction is the main station, on the Delhi-Chennai main line, with lines also running to Indore, Kota, Etawah and Sheopur. It is being rebuilt under the railway station redevelopment programme.

Gwalior has NO METRO. No line is operational, under construction or sanctioned - the city is not on the metro programme, and nothing here should be judged against one. Connectivity runs on rail and road: GWALIOR JUNCTION sits on the Delhi-Chennai main line and is being rebuilt under the station redevelopment programme, and the airport is 10 km north-east at Maharajpura.

Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindia Air Terminal is about 10 km north-east at Maharajpura. It is a CIVIL ENCLAVE INSIDE AN AIR FORCE STATION, which is why height restrictions apply across the north-east of the city.
