Area Overview

What makes Whitefield special

Whitefield began in 1882 as a settlement for Anglo-Indians and Eurasians, laid out around a central green with the Memorial Church and Waverley Inn. Parts of that original village survive, and the contrast with what surrounds it is stark.

The International Tech Park Bangalore opened here in the late 1990s and changed everything. Whitefield is now one of India’s largest technology employment clusters, with a population that grew several times over in two decades.

The Namma Metro Purple Line extension reached Whitefield in 2023, which materially changed the calculation here — the city centre is now reachable without driving the Old Madras Road.

Why choose Whitefield?

Whitefield has an operating Purple Line metro station since 2023, ITPL five minutes away, three hospitals within 3 km including Manipal, TISB and Deens Academy within 4 km, and three major malls in the area — more self-sufficient than anywhere else on this side of Bengaluru. Yields run 4–4.5%. The trade-offs are the airport at eighty minutes, corridor congestion, and rents that track ITPL occupancy rather than broad local demand.
